I had a bumper year in 2010 with my Autumn Bliss in pots, they actually produced 2 lots of fruit, summer and autumn ;D Over winter I put them in 2 larger pots around 20" across and 24" deep, lots of new canes coming through.
About 4 weeks ago I actually chopped off some of the new canes and popped them in a pot of compost to see if they strike roots. Anyone ever tried cuttings ? Will take pics next time I have the camera up the garden.

I wondered about that as my Autumn Bliss are sprouting up by the parent plants up at the lottie and the blooming rabbits have got the ones at home. Perhaps I could relocate some

I'll nip and take a pic of mine, back shortly ;D I'm back The 2 big pots are 14" deep and 16" across, not as big as I guessed at the other day I can't believe the growth on them tbo, looks like I'll be splitting them up after this season. Also noticed and I have flowers photo bit blurry but its windy. Maybe I'll get two lots of fruit again These are the cuttings and they look as if they may be ok, if they have taken I'll let my neighbour have them as hers popped thier cloggs

So your cuttings were just bits snipped off the canes then Chuckles Did you just stick them in the pot - did you use rooting powder?

Yep just canes cut off Jasmine, no rooting powder. They had shoots on which as you can now see are growing, they are in a semi shaded spot and I've kept them moist. I'll give them a tug in a week or so and we'll see whats happening.

Thanks for the info Chuckles - I'll give it a go - if it works I'll at least be able to replace the bunny chewed plants.

How are your rasberriies doing Auricula and Jasmine did you relocate your home rasberries to the allotment after the rabbits feasted on them. I meant to post this snippet of info for you before but forgot When I moved my 2 pots a while back they had rooted to the ground, I just tugged them up and the roots snapped and I thought no more of it, it wasn't until a few weeks on I noticed what looked like rasberry leaves growing where they had been and low and behold thats what they were. The roots in the ground were enough to start reproducing and it made me wonder if yours came back to life. I dug the clump up and my neighbour now has it growing in her veg area, not sure is she'll get fruit this year, you never know. Mmmmm now my canes I put in a pot hoping they'd strike roots, well I looked at them this morning and they are just dead sticks. Nothing ventured and all that ;D Now the ones in pots I have fruit on them and they have really put on some growth. Just ignore Bessie, she saw me move some pots from infront of the rasberries and thought Ooooooh snacks ;D

I didn't Chuckles - as the little baby at the lottie went brown and curled up its toes and now another mature plant looks like it's going the same way. They've all been fed and watered the same. I quite like the look of raspberry polka so may order some of those to replace the bunny snack autumn bliss. Or I may just take them up the lottie rather than risk feeding the bunnies again.
