Well I put several of the pots of seeds in the CF and at least the verbenas have germinated....I read in a book that some seds can take up to 3 years to germinate! so maybe I give up too easily. the geranium maderense have suddenly germinated in the HP. just wish the others would take note and get a move on....

I've decided to have another go at the trillium seed....got some horticultural grit so that stuff in the cold frame stands a chance. Lobelia Tuppa as well...I know that it's getting a bit late now and maybe I should just abandon sowing until autumn/next spring...but it's just my favourite part of gardening I think....growing from seed....and I do like a challenge... ;D

All seeds are a challenge to me!! I'm too lazy to walk the length of the garden to get tap water, so I use rainwater, which makes the compost green and hard...but ...do I ever learn?

I was potting on this afternoon...I hadn't noticed that some of the pots I was using for pricking out (square ones from Wilkinsons) hadn't got drainage holes. The seedlings in these pots have very poor growth...so I've had to pot them all on today...exhausted.

I've just sown some paeonia rockii seeds. I didn't realise they were going to be a bit of a faff. Chiltern Seeds don't usually do info but I have a short essay. Sow, put in fridge for 2-3 months. The 20C for 2-3 months, then back to the fridge for 2-3 months. They may be sometime then! ;D

Forgot to say thank you for the link Chuckles. I've had a proper look at it now. I wonder if the periods of 2/3 months are trying to do what nature would do in 3 years?
