Yep I do - I am your wife's side - who wants a dry side then...
I love salad sandwiches with loads of butter and mayo... that's why my trousers are always a little tight!!

RF I have this thing for Iceberg lettuce at the moment RF....i have it with everything but there's not much better than a ham, cheese, iceberg, cucumber and vine ripened tomato sarnie with lashings of salad cream

Yup, coz it acts as a waterproofer. Or tomato juice etc proofer. Mind you I haven't had any bread for nearly 4 months. Nor butter either.
Mmmmmmm.......

It depends on the filling. If it's a fairly dry filling like roast chicken then yes I butter both sides. If it's a moist filling like tuna mayo then I don't butter the bread at all

I thought everyone buttered both slices of bread - it wouldn't be a proper sarnie if it was dry..ugh!!

I butter the top slice but not the bottom and if it's something like tuna or egg mayo I don't butter it at all. OH has both sides buttered though!

We butter both sides, I have margarine, but Hubby has real butter, and he lays it on like cheese.
