That's very interesting RF as I only had mine on saturday past and the Dr. who gave it definately said it will only give 75per cent immunity but she did say it was up to me if I chose not to have another one when the 3 weeks are up. Perhaps with the numbers falling they may think there's less chance of contacting it.

I was offered a jab but declined. My friend had a jab before Christmas and was very unwell for a couple of days. But another friends son had his and was fine.
If you have the jab, can you still take Tamiflu?

I guess it's swings and roundabouts. From what I've heard people still take a few days to recover after taking the tamiflu, and they'd probably do that naturally anyway. Oh I don't know!! Have you had your jab Snowy? Hope you are feeling ok Tamiflu is said to reduce the duration of the illness by about a day - not worth the potential side effects in my opinion, especially for an illness which is now recognised to be mild (hate to say it, but I told you so)

FB i have had the normal flu jab now for a few years and never had any side affects from it. I have never realy had a bad cold or flu now for many years. I know the noraml flu jab affects differant people in differant ways but i have had no problems even the swine flu has not affected me as yet just a bit of an achy arm but nothing bad.

FB - I am all in favour of people in "at-risk" categories having the seasonal 'flu vaccine (and indeed the H1N1 virus). There is no need for otherwise fit people to have it. I have never had one. Mind you I think I must have developed a natural immunity by being in constant contact with people because I seldom ailed when I was working. I wonder if this will change now.
At-risk includes the over-65's - sorry
