GN knows his audience and he was fine on the ALW shows when he adapted his style to family entertainment.JB would also be good but we must be careful in our choices or it could look like stereotyping with Gay being synonymous with dancing ( sorry Anton!!) ;D

Starts tonight but it's 10pm before it finishes. Quite a long show but I'm looking forward to watching it.

I love the first ones, it will be interesting to see who looks the most promising and who will be the most entertaining (not for the same reasons ;D)

I'm a fan too & luckily OH likes it as well, so we'll be tucked up on the sofa tonight . I don't watch soaps so won't know most of the contestants but I have just got Ricky Groves from Eastenders in the office sweep stake, which has probably ruined the poor guy's chances right from the start Jillyx

Well from tonights performances I liked Ali for the girls and Gary for the boys.....so far Poor old Joe was painful to watch

I thought Ali was the most promising female, and perhaps Chris Hollins for the chaps Although I did take quite a fancy to Rav ;D Joe was excruciatingly (?sp) awkward to watch, and whoever thought that dress suited Linda Bellingham needs to go back to costume design school! I did smile watching her performance though, for all the wrong reasons, especially when the hem got caught in her heel! As for the group dance of the other contestants .. I am so looking forward to Tuffers - bet he is rubbish, too much of a clown to take it seriously I reckon x Tig

I noticed that Linda caught her heel in her dress but was surprised that the judges never mentioned it

I agree about Joe and Lynda. Jade was good and so was Chris. OH watche the bits with Ola and Kristina Can't wait for Tuffers next week, he said on the cricket programme that he ached all over! Bless!! Glad they're getting the chance to do both ballroom and Latin - it's about to start so I'll be back later to comiseate with Lynda ( hope Joe's less petrified!!)

Poor old Martina and Matthew...they shouldn't have been in the dance off I thought that Joe was worse.......can't understand why he wasn't in the dance off Ali and Chris were brill.................and Ricky was hysterical ;D

Post by Tig on Sept 19, 2009 20:41:30 GMT
Ricky was brill - he played it for laughs and I thought he made a good effort at the steps and everything! I would have thought that a boxer would have been light on his feet and had a bit a rhythm think Joe was the worst dancer tonight, but he must have a lot of fans, glad Rav didn't go out though I do miss Arlene .. her comments were often constructive in terms of the dance and making improvements to poise and feet positioning, professional stuff. No-one else really offers that, well Craig did a bit I suppose but not in a very positive way! Aleisha is pretty, but not really qualified to comment in depth

No, I think that although Alesha is very nice she doesn't really understand 'dance' like the others...she doesn't have much to say on it the way the others do....
I liked Arlene even if she did get a bit gushy on the blokes bums..she knew what she was talking about.

I am glad that Alesha didn't just make nice comments and try to be the celebrity's "friend". To be honest, she was better than I thought she'd be. Lynda should have gone as she is the only one who can't greatly improve - she can't do anything about her age/size. I think that both Rav and Joe will get better as they conquer their nerves.I fear for Natalie and Jo next week ( on an age/size theme - although they have only one each to overcome unlike poor Lynda)

I'm with Jen - looking forward to seeing Rav again in a couple of weeks. ;D I enjoy the choice of costumes - I wonder though if they reflect the 'position' of the dancers in terms of popularity, ie the ones that can't dance very well get rubbish whilst the chosen few get the best x Tig

I wondered about that Tiggy especially when Lynda had to wear that minging yellow dress - poor thing I think Ali Bastion - am sure got name wrong - has the best dresses so far - very fem and floaty

I really enjoied the show, I was laughing out loud at some of the expressions on the clebs faces. ;D Some of the dresses were just stunning and I did think they all looked original and not make overs from last year but there were a few that were less than flattering. It must take great guts for all of them to go out there and I have to say I admire them all for trying. I'll be watching It Takes Two tonight on BBC2.

I loved it - how wonderful to have something to settle down and get right into at long last! Brucie drove me up the wall as usual, but cant have it all I dont suppose. That boxer is terrible, that poor girl - she got saddled with john flippin sargent last year and now she's got him - its not fair ! Ricky Groves was hilarious and Lynda Bellingham was awful, I thought it would be the other way round, but she is no dancer is she I thought that Ali was fabulous, bet she gets voted off tho - she seems to lack "sparkle" personality wise Just cant get over the boxer - dont exactly float like a butterfly does he !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
