A quick quiz challenge for all the gardeners .. The following specimens all have something in their names associated with the festivities taking place around the 5th November in the UK. How many can you name? i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/wink.gif Don't be put off if you can't identify them all, just being able to name one or two of the ten 'mystery' specimens could make you a winner! So get your thinking caps on and PM your answers to the (Main) Admin account by midnight UK time on Saturday 7th November! Please note that the full plant name is required together with the specific link word to Guy Fawkes Night included. Plant 01:Plant 02:Plant 03:Plant 04:Plant 05:Plant 06:Plant 07:Plant 08:Plant 09:Plant 10:The winning entrant will receive a selection of ten packets of seeds and the runner up will receive five packets. As usual, in the event of a tie the first received correct entry will be deemed to be the winner.

;D Do you want full names or is the first Latin bit enough? Not that I am entering as winning games is not what I can do as a rule ;D That's a good point Dutchy. The majority of the plant names are the Latin version, whilst all of the link words are in English. So something along the lines of Rosa 'Crimson Cascade' for instance. (That's not one of the answers!) I think that is as far as I can go without giving too much away.

Why don't you do it on a point system....
1 point for the English name 1 pont for the genus in latin 2 points for both latin names 1 point for the cultivar 10 ponts if you get all the above.
For example.

Main admin is the account that we use to control the board basically LG. It means that the answers go to a central place and not to OM, Spru or myself.
Just put "admin" in the slot for the username.
RF
EDIT: That is admin - without the inverted commas.

I'm with some of the others on this. What I know about plant names could be written on the back of a very small stamp with a very large crayon ;D I haven't a scooby about any of them.
I do like number 6 though.
