I thought we had a thread for favourite sayings but I can't find it . Anyway I saw this yesterday and thought it was very clever. ''never be afraid to try something new, remember an amateur built the ark, but a team of professionals built the titanic''

I'm turning into my aunt, grandmother and mother, or just getting old!!! "If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well" I am haunted by that saying BS. If I don't do something properly and am trying to convince myself it doesn't matter I can hear my Mum's voice saying, 'If a job's worth doing....'

If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well My dad always says "don't spoil a ship for a ha'porth of tar" I think that pretty much means the same thing. FA x

My mum says that one of her grandma's oft used sayings was "There's enough blue sky to make a sailor a pair of trousers"!

My Grandma used to say similar Spru but hers was "There's enough blue sky to make a man's shirt" apparently this meant a nice day could be ahead

A nd you know why that is Jen,dont you,its cos they dont get started till they have had several coffees, and a long chinwag ;D ...don't forget the biscuits. Anyway coffee, chatting and biscuits don't hold women up cos they can deal with all those things and at least 3 other things at the same time.
