I have an 8 X 6 or 6 X 8 polycarbonate one too so good choice, but by June next year you'll wish you had one four times the size, I do and everyone I know says the same.

I'm delighted for you both. I have to make do with my plastic growhouse.

WELL... funny you should say about getting a bigger one... cos we're going to be making a sheltered area outside the back door with perspex roofing. So that'll be used as an overwintering/sheltered seed sowing place too hehe
The green house will be mainly used for growing the stuff that likes to be a bit warmer than it usually is up here with the coastal winds.

That's brilliant you 2. May they both be built and used quicker than mine...which is still in the shed ;D

The shelter bit might not be done this year tbh. That involves putting the fence up first which probably won't be done this year either lol

Jasmine, perhaps you'll have it up by the time you're sowing in ernest again.

Well done April, I really miss my polycarb area which I had to give up for the chickens. Having both a GH and extra area will be brill.
Jasmine, I'm beginning to wonder what else you have hidden away in your shed ;D

I had mine put up by the firm that made it - and the alpine house.....................couldn't bear the angst of it being done by OH

I had mine put up by the firm that made it - and the alpine house.....................couldn't bear the angst of it being done by OH Now, if it was my Dad or my ex trying to put it up, I'd be worried. My OH doesn't fly off the handle when he can't get something where it's supposed to be or realises he's put something in the wrong place.

Nice one Al have fun planting and watching your seedlings grow. But like Mowhay said in a few months time you will not have enough space. They are useful for over wintering tender plants to.

I'm hoping to use it for seedlings initially, I've not really got anything that needs overwintering. The OH has ;D He's very excited about getting seeds for stuff and is already planning what HE'S going to grow in the GH lol As long as he's happy, it's fine with me

I have a bit of a stomach ache about getting it up. OH isn't allowed near it but I do need to find some one to help and I received the note that next week is delivery time ( OH not even near to help if all else fails ).... help.

Won't the firm supplying it do it, Dutchy? I find it's worth the extra money as it is so fiddly to do and has to be exact

It's been ordered and is now a 6 by 10 ;D The OH said "Well, the front will line up with the shed that way because the garden isn't straight at the bottom" (it's a sort of really long trapezoid shape).
So... 5 to 10 working days and it'll be here.
I might be closer to getting a fence too ;D

It almost costs as much to have them do it as the GH itself. I have the base in place now all water level and with proper 45 degree corners. Have to wait for better weather to continue with the GH itself.
