Very sad news. Kath had befriended so many people she never met with her openess, honesty and kindness across the cyber world. Although she will be very much missed here, she is once again reunited with her beloved Eric and I'm sure she's already started planting some flowers in her Heavenly garden patch. Sincerest sympathy to her family. Kath will always be remembered in our hearts! Lydia

I'm not sure whether I crossed paths withBiggles. She was obviously a respected and popular member of the boards. The thought of that must be a comfort to her family. Always hard for the ones left behind

So sorry to hear about Kath - although I hadn't seen her about much recently, I remember her well from the old days on the Beeb and her involvement in setting up this forum - she has been part of the online gardening community for so long, she will be much missed.

Thanks Maggy for letting me know this sad news!
I've 'met' Kath/Biggles on various forums and tbh, I don't come across a person so genuine, someone who could never have a bad word for anyone that often and Kath was definitely one of them. I swapped a fair few PM's with her and her warmth came through always, whether we were talking about health problems (mine usually!) or garden/pond talk! She will be missed, but like already said, she will be with her beloved Eric now and hopefully at peace!

It certainly is Susie, and once again many thanks for representing, not only GWD, but all the people online that wanted to pay their respects to Kath.

Can I just say that Karen kindly offered to come up for the funeral but, as she would have to go to so much trouble to travel all of this way, I insisted she stay at home. Thank you Karen for being so thoughtful, I know Kath would appreciate it. SS xx

Can I please send my deepest sympathies too, to the family of a lovely Lady. I never had the chance to met Kath but we exchanged PM’s and she was very supportive to me on AF when I lost my Mum. (3 years ago, this month.) as others have said she had a great sense of humour which made you smile or laugh, even if you didn’t feel like it. Biggles, I hope you’re having great fun creating your new garden in the Sky with Eric. God Bless You both.

Hi everybody,
As most of you know, I attended the funeral for Kath this afternoon. It was a very moving, non-religious service with beautiful music and a family friend telling us about Kath's life. What an amazing woman she really was, both in reality and virtually. I learnt more about her in those few minutes than I did all of the years I've known her!
I introduced myself to her daughter Anne who was so pleased that I was there to represent everybody. I gave her the messages from the board and invited her to maybe post on here at a later date when she felt able.
All in all, I was so pleased that I attended and was able to say farewell to Kath on behalf of everybody.

Thanks Susie
