Have you had supermarket problems - I saw photos of empty shelves in Ashford (Kent)??

Yes we have. Not a drop of milk in the Co-op yesterday. Apparently they couldn't collect it from the farms in the first place so farmers were letting it flow away down the drains Poor farmers.

No, it isn't - it tastes odd. As you say, better than nothing.

The boys don't seem to mind it in milkshake and it's ok for cheese sauces - tea is not the same though

OH has seen empty shelves and panic buying when he's been at the supermarket, I think it's a combination of delivery lorries beeing unable to get due to weather conditions and panic buying

There's no evidence of any of that here

Well - it's very slippery out on our lanes, black ice, I'm afraid, so I'm not driving anywhere at the moment. OH went shopping on Thursday and it was OK then. No probs with food in the supermarket, thank goodness.
Unfortunately, the pet store had run out of bird seed, fat balls and peanuts.
We only shop once a week, as it's a 20 mile round trip to the town.

Supermarkets were fully stocked here last Friday. We do have the M6 flowing straight by us though so as long as that is open the lorries can deliver. It does make you wonder how everyone managed in years gone by though x Tig

There were more village shops, for a start, and more milkmen delivered - they didn't only have milk on their floats, either. Our nearest village is down to one shop and a post office. We don't really have a choice except to travel to the town.

I saw on TV news huge warehouses stacked with pallets full of boxes of goods that could'nt be delivered. As today is supposed to be the busiest day for online ordering, I wonder if perhaps some things might not arrive in time. Especially since the forecast is for the freeze to continue.

I have two orders in at Amazon and another company - both have e-mailed and said the books etc are on the way, so my fingers are crossed. ;D

There's been a bit of petrol panic buying too and interestingly it has gone up by 2p a litre round here...supply and demand? Still no milk but Mr Sainsburys is due tomorrow.

I've had 3 orders from Amazon, yesterday and today - one by post and 2 by different carriers, so all is well here

I didn't think there was a price rise due so if it is supply and demand it is a bit naughty. Still, everyone does it if there is money to be made. We've had to evacuate for 2 hurricanes in Florida in the past - the hotels/motels then charge silly money for rooms

We've always claimed when we've got back off holiday and never had any trouble getting our money back, but it is cheeky.

The local neighbourhood Co-op has had a few bare shelves but I think that's down to their distribution set up. Asda is fine as are Netto and M&S. Tesco is off limits - on the other side of town - until the eternal roadworks end next March, so I've no idea what's happening there! i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/wink.gif
