I do often wonder how people manage in those situations Jasmine if they don't have anything to fall back on.

I don't know LG. But it's nice to hear heart warming stories about folk who come to the rescue when things are bad, whatever the bad may be - 2 foot of snow or a hurricane or what have you. Brings out the best in folk.

Parts of Florida are beautiful - the Keys, the Everglades, the beaches of the Gulf Coast. The shopping was brilliant but you can get more and more stuff here now and the £/$ isn't so good. And, if you like a theme park or 10 then it's all there - that's not why we go as none of us like thrill rides!!

Oooh, now that is something I would like!! ;D Don't fancy America - we get their politics, language and culture shoved down our throats so much here I have, however been to San Francisco ( I'm an old hippy at heart) and loved it ;D

Proper tea Jasmine, enjoy. What about those poor folk in Scotland who have been stranded in their cars and lorries. Don't you feel for them. They're getting it really bad.

Thank you LG! And the old folk who've pottered out to their garden and not made it back indoors

That was quite shocking. It just shows how careful you need to be in this weather. I'm guilty of popping out to get some logs in unsuitable shoes without a coat - I could easily slip - and then what?

What I thought was very sad was that a little old lady of 80 died after she fell going toward her outside loo. In this day and age no old folk should have to trot outside to the toilet like that.

I have a patient who uses her outdoor one instead of going upstairs to the proper one. She's fully able bodied too
