Just popped in to say hello - and to let you know, the reason I've not reappeared after the Christmas rush is because I'm having problems with my eyes at the moment, so I'm trying to cut down on the time I spend on the computer (which means especially on message boards). More info. here: theclockworkdodo.blogspot.com/2011/01/2011-story-so-far.htmlJust snuck over here briefly to look at Photo of the Month & post this - I'll pop in again (& change out of that Christmas outfit - sorry, can't face Photobucket at the moment!) when I can see properly - which should happen eventually, but may take a while.

Oh Juliet, sorry about your eyes. I hope they recover quickly. I've just been reading your blog - what a thing to do to someone's garden - hope everything recovers as spring takes off. I think I'd complain though...or set OH on them....

Juliet I'm so sorry to hear of your problems. I do hope things improve soon for you. I'd be in touch with the council and give them a right telling off at the very least.

Abbotswood it a little toughie though Juliet, so it will soon spring back. I've hard pruned mine several times as the original description said - compact, up to 2' - hmmm, I guess someone forgot to tell Abbotswood that I do hope your eyesight improves soon, you need to be able to see Spring sprunging x Tig

I have just had the same problem with work men but I stood over them to make sure they didnt disturb anything in my flower beds as I told them there where very rare and expensive bulbs waiting to come up and I didnt think their boss would be too happy to get a large bill to replace them ;D Sorry to hear about your eyes but I hope you get it sorted very soon.

Hello again! - and thanks for all your good wishes, for my eyes & for the Potentilla! It turned out it wasn't just my eyes - I've now been diagnosed with diabetes after an emergency trip to hospital: theclockworkdodo.blogspot.com/2011/02/fairly-big-adventure.htmlI'll try to catch up eventually - may take me a while ...

Thanks folks Tig - no, not stable yet, but I'm getting there! At the moment I keep having low blood sugar in the night and having to go down and get a sugary drink and a jam sandwich. On the plus side my weight is going up again - I reached the dizzy heights of 8 stone this morning!

...um....my left leg prolly weighs eight stone.....
I'm really sorry that you've had these medical problems Juliette. On the plus side, at least you now have a diagnosis and once you get the diabetes under control hopefully your other symptoms will settle down. Look after yourself dearie.
Are you got type 2 diabetes? that can be controlled with diet eventually? or will you have to take medication?

...um....my left leg prolly weighs eight stone..... ;D It's type 1, Cheery - I have to self-inject with insulin 4 times a day. It should still be easy enough to control once it settles down though, so long as it doesn't clash with the ME too much! I have a friend who has both and he says the diabetes is a doddle to cope with compared with the ME.

I've heard that too Juliet, you're already dealing with so much. I'm sure you'll cope well with the Diabetes once you get it under controll. Hang in there and take good care and as much rest as you can.
