My MIL has my very old one (it's older than the boys) and all of a sudden she's getting lots of rude jokes on it. My FIL called to tell me - not sure what I can do about that - God knows where they're coming from

They wouldn't send rude jokes to their Nanna - they'd get no pocket money! ;D

Of course they wouldn't Jas - it's probably someone who's got a wrong number....probably be very and also wondering why their "friend" hasn't responded ;D ;D

Who knows where these things come from but I hope they stop for your MIL soon Jasmine. I get texts all the time telling me I should claim for the accident I had, I've not had an accident.

I wonder what people get out of sending all this "spam"?

It's funny you should say that LG - they did have one of those texts too (accident claims) and I wondered why my insurance company was using a number that was 14 years old and that I certainly didn't give them - I can't even remember what it was. It was just a random text then.
Have you decided on a phone Auricula?

I suppose if they get just 1 answer from 100s of texts they make a bomb.

Spruance is bound to know something about them but I've not seen much of him around lately. I'm afraid that I haven't a clue on smart phones LG. I have a basic Nokia mobil which makes calls and sends texts. Sometimes I can key in a whole text in less than five minutes! ;D It is something that fascinates me though but not something that I can see any great use for as far as my own circumstances go.

;D I have an E72 And the bother with it is having to always check if the e-mail receiving is off otherwise the blasted thing keeps trying to acces it through my phone line and receiving data through the "phone line" is bldy expensive. I also do not use the map. I might If I get lost and want to know where I am but otherwise I still use Garmin. I need to update through a computer but mine is not working good enough. Bggr I need a new puter and hate all the work it takes to first store all you need and then think about what the new machine must be able to do and and and uncertainties ;D
I merely use the phone for calls and texting. Texting is abfab as I now have a qwerty board on the phone and I do love that.

Good choice Auricula. Wish I'd bought the purple Blackberry too. Much better than touch phones! I'm still phoning people by mistake as they are so sensitive.

That's my reasoning PJ. My d.i.l. said they sometimes have a mind of their own and that they can be too sensitive of their own good, my son has a Blackberry and I thought it would be more "me" especially when I saw the purple one.....it's yummy ;D Quite in keeping with my YummyGrandmaness ;D ;D
