No wonder you are feeling down Susie, what a bummer! Is it just a small nursery that isn't coping financially? Is anyone else being made redundant, or have you drawn the short straw?
August is a bit off, perhaps something else will crop up in the meantime. Would you be willing to help others in their gardens?

Now maybe is the time to be brave and go for it, what about starting your own little nursery business and helping people in their gardens as well, I'm sure everyone here would be prepared to send plants and seeds and bulbs and pots to help you get started. Did you enjoy the take that concert by the way.

Thanks guys Unfortunately, to set up your own business you need capitol and premises, of which I have neither!! I also need to be earning more or less the same as I do now and I know, having been a gardener before, this won't happen. Folk in this area just aren't spending the money on their gardens at the moment. It's a very small nursery (about 1 acre site) and the doors will be closing for good on 21st August Many jobs have been lost in this area recently, so I'm not the only one. Barbara, TT were fantastic ;D xx

While you're waiting for something to turn up, you could start propagating plants and selling them on EBay - I have a friend who does quite nicely doing that.At least it would occupy you and bring in a bit of money until you get something.

Ow Susie what a bmmer. Have you gone on the internet yet and posted yourself as looking for a new job? Ten years of experience isn't something to be niffed about and any clever person can pick you up. Have you considered going into doing peoples gardens? Lots of people haven't got the time/knowledge/lust/green fingers to do their own garden or even their own house plants. There might be an opportunity there. Ah drats I do hope you find something. August 21st is too bldy close for comfort. Go on girl you scream and we'll hug.
