It looks like Veronica to me too MRH. I have Veronica Gentianoides in my garden but it's spikes are very small this year. Very pretty flower 'tho.

It looks just like the one that Jasmine sent me last year Missy, mine is just starting to flower but the spikes are quite short, but she is a baby & was being bullied by a nearby Brunnera until I took action.

It looks little doesn't it Missy - until the flower spikes pop up. MIne are very tall and floppy this year.

Yep...definately cyclamen.
What type will depend on when it flowers.....
C. Hederafolium flowers in August sept and oct
C. Coum flowers in Spring

My FIL used to buy them and then after they had stopped flowering he bunged them in his shed and then later outside in the shade for the summer, then re-potted them for the autumn and took them back into the house to flower...
