I have a few of those 'cake' stands - nice job Barbara, starry, starry night .... My senior neighbour asked me to help her make a wreath for her husbands grave, so that is what I've spent my afternoon doing. We made a heart shaped one on a frame of hazel whips I'd cut earlier in the year, and some of my Golden King holly, with a bit of her much more prickly Silver Queen (ouch!). She had a little robin so I've wired that in the middle and made a gold and green bow to fix to the base. She is very happy with it, I didn't take a piccie as it seemed insensitive x Tig

Made me smile LG ;D Senior neighbour was very pleased with the wreath Geranium, I coaxed her to wire some of the foliage to the frame so that she can tell her family she helped make it. I'm just a bit worried because she isn't taking it up to the cemetery until Christmas Eve and has hung it on the frame of an interior door. It would last much better outside x Tig

Must admit we "cheated" and bought a wreath for my Sister's grave We fixed it to some bamboo canes to the side of the headstone; hopefully the wind will not blow it away. Placing it this way leaves the flower pot free for bil's flowers.

That sounds lovely Tig. My Mum always put a wreath on her parents' grave at Christmas.
Your cake looks beautiful Barbara!

The last parcels have just been handed over - apparently last second class day is Saturday! I've ordered prezzies to be delivered to my sister and her OH and I think that's it except for the boys who I'm going to finish off (not literally!) on Monday!

Can't go wrong with a selection box Barbara - or I noticed they're doing big boxes of Randoms - all small and medium sized folk love those...some OHs do too I'd love a piece of Christmas cake, please may I have a bit with a silver bauble on it? ;D

I made my second cake today - the first one was overcooked a bit, so we're already eating it This one looks much better so I'll marzipan and ice that one and save it until "the day" ( we'll probably have finished the first one by then cos we both love fruit cake) Only got a couple of pressies left to get for no 1 son, he never knows what he wants OH does all the wrapping - says he's better at it than I am ::)and it's nearly done. Have to go to the shops daily from now on.....love the crowds and the atmosphere ;D

I think this Saturday the shops will be crowded out - think may do some shopping in the week when the kids are off school and it is less busy
Most offices close on Monday anyway
