Because it's our first year growing onions I dont want any to go to waste so, I've just made a batch of onion soup using 2lb of onions and 3 pts of stock, It smells amazing, I just hope it tastes as good.

I often make soup with surplus veggies, you can use up any that aren't perfect and won't store well and freeze it.

Well done Barbara - the Germans make tons of soup, so when in Rome etc etc.
It's mostly chunky soups, not many use a liquidizer here...I make a pan full most weeks in the winter...and I have to make OH a large pan (15litres) of pea soup which I freeze into portions..

dont forget the crusty bread as well Barbara nothing like a good dunk pity I never have enough Onions to do everything my OH love Onion soup as well.

I've got some surplus broad beans and am making soup with them for tea. Couple of pounds of broad beans, a large onion, 3 cloves of garlic and some vegetable stock. I'll soften the onions and garlic first, boil it up and liquidise it I think
