Has anyone tried growing these. I've been looking around for tubers, but they seem a bit hard to come by. Then I noticed they sell them in Tesco of all places. Would these grow if planted?
Also a good idea to try a few before I decide to plant them anyway. They might be horrible ;D

Was it this that someone was saying grows like weeds in their garden? I can't remember now...

I had them many years ago but didn't know what they were and ended up getting rid of them as they went rampant...took me about 3 years to get rid of the roots - I never knew you could eat them!!!!
Could it have been Dutchy that grew them??

I grow them, and it's true that once you've planted some they keep coming back as you never harvest every bit of tuber. PJ also had some, her OH loves them.
They are really easy to grow and they make tall plants, mine are about 6' at the moment.
I would buy some to try PDB to make sure you do like them, although I find my fresh ones have more taste than the supermarket bought ones. Word of warning, they do give most people extreme flatulence ;D
You can roast them whole, boil them (but very fiddly trying to get the skins off), make soup with them, or my favourite ... scrub them, slice thinly and roast as Jerusalem artichoke crisps to have with a nice garlic and onion dip.
