I went there in 2004 before I was very "planty" but I enjoyed it.
Now, the ones in Parc de la Tete D'Or in Lyon are to die for!

Mary Keen recommended a visit to Little Sparta near Edinburgh in the paper this w/e. It's open Wed, Fri and Sunday, 2.30 to 5 until September 30th. She says, 'Go and see this extraordinary, disturbing and wonderful place while you can'.

My other option is for a long weekend in Europe somewhere next spring or early summer. Kerkenhof in Amsterdam was first on the list, I'll also look at the ones in Lyon.
Any other suggestions ;D

I'd love to go to Kerkenhof! I'd also like to walk the High Line in New York. You could do either of those Andy and post lots of pics! ;D

Any other suggestions ;D DEFINITELY look into Lyon. I'm not joking, that parc is HUGE. It has a zoo in it, a lake with massive war memorial in the centre, a large rose garden, large dahlia garden, exotics, and everything. It took us 2 days to walk around it (going back to the hotel inbetween!) and we still didn't see everything. Mez had the best icecream he's ever tasted there though lol en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parc_de_la_T%C3%AAte_d%27Oren.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jardin_botanique_de_Lyon
