I have bought a few grasses as I am trying to fill up the garden a bit more because of the neighbours weeds...I know what the others are but this one has me stumped... Can anyone help me please?? and a close up.. RF

Hmmm! Not stipa as that has thinner grass. Molinia of some sort Although mine are turning autumnal colours now

I love ornamental grasses and am sure got something similar so will search for the label they do tend to spread tho A good ground cover for keeping weeds down is the wild African Violet - it is very pretty when in flower and weeds cant get thru it - the roots are quite long and well established into the ground too

Found one label but not sure if same as yours it is Deschampsia cespitosa
"Seed" flower heads dying off now but a very pretty grass

It looks too soft to be miscanthus Just been looking at mine.

I dismissed Miscanthus as this is a really course grass...mine I mean...

It looks quite soft in the pic RF, like bunny tail grass but taller.

I've had a look round the garden at mine and none of them look like that one. However I have just sown some seed of calamagrostis and I reckon that is what yours is RF - possibly Karl Foerster, but you won't know for sure until it flowers

Just been looking at pics and if it is a calamagrostis I will be thrilled - they really are rather lovely....hope it does flower as it will certainly help identify it..!!
