BB was knocked over this morning and taken to the emergency vets by someone who found him round the corner.
He's being monitored at the moment, but we know he's at least got a broken lower jaw (hopefully not the upper as well), and broken teeth. His pupils aren't equal so that's causing concern and it's difficult to tell what else is going on due to swelling. He's not stable enough to be sedated or anaesthetised, so he's just on painkillers and a drip at the moment.
Can't believe this is happening again.

The vet seemed a bit happier with his progress throughout the day after worrying around lunchtime that he was deteriorating. So they've stuck him on methadone and his pupils are now responding to light. They can see swelling on the optic nerve so he's pretty much blind at the moment, but his jaw's stopped bleeding and he's had a wee (all over the jumper I took in for him that smells of home!) so they're not worried about anything more internal apart from the head now. I just hope he gets stable enough to be moved to our vets for anaesthetic and operation on his jaw and hopefully won't have to stay in at the emergency vets any longer.

What a very kind someone to take him to the Vet MamIDdau but what a terrible thing to happen. The news in your 2nd post is more reassuring and hopefully today will be even better and you'll get him to your own Vet.

He can come home The vet wants to speak with us so we've got to be there by 6pm. Got his room ready anyway so he's got somewhere quiet to come back to without Toffee trying to batter him for no reason lol

The vets got £687 so far and a thank you so that's more than enough lol
He's got to go back tomorrow for another antibiotic injection. We've managed to get the anti inflammatory liquid down his neck with the syringe and then we put some water down too so he's at least had a small amount of fluid. He's not touched the food as yet. I expect his mouth is very sore to be honest as he's had to have stitches in his tongue, too.
He's wandering around the room a lot, possibly a bit dizzy. Walked into a couple of things, but on the whole seems to be avoiding the furniture pretty well so we think his sight is better than we thought it would be. Not quite sure about his hearing though, doesn't seem as responsive as he should be, but that could be because he's been on methadone and is still feeling a bit stoned!
Just glad he's alive and now home.

Vets bill had £20 added to it today, but the vet is happier with his progress. Said his tongue will heal quite quickly so hopefully he'll be eating and drinking a bit better in a few days. We've had cuddles today though and he seemed to enjoy me wiping him down with a flannel although he still stinks lol

He's a lot brighter this morning. Wolfed down 2 pouches of food and been drinking a lot of water so I don't have to worry about him as much now. His eyes seem to be OK and I can't tell if his hearing is affected or he's just being the ignorant git he sometimes was lol

He's a very lucky boy. Back to the vets a week today for the stitches in his leg out and then at the end of the month he should be able to have the wire out. His eye sight and reflexes are a lot better but his sight isn't quite as it should be at the moment. Still, it's been less than a week so still early days.
He's not moving from our bed unless we put him into the back bedroom or he needs food/water/toilet.
