I've been to an Open University Student Volunteer Workshop today and we were told about a website run by the OU designed to encourage people to get involved with nature/wildlife etc. Here's the link www.iSpot.org.uk/Basically, you take a photo of something you see and want to identify, upload it to the site and people from all over the UK (including the countries leading botanists from places like the Natural History Museum etc) are on there and will try to identify it. I thought it might be really handy for when we get the odd bug or plant we can't put a name to and hopefully someone on that site will be able to. You can also identify things that other people have uploaded and gain 'reputation' if it's a correct ID. It looks really good, is free and a great way to access the great minds of the UK!

That looks interesting TT, thanks for sharing the link. I haven't registered yet, I'll have a look round first on a rainy day.
