I'm not fussed about any bugs unless we're stuck in a small space together then I would like to be able to see what I'm dealing with! Birds are quite different - can't bear the flapping and feathers and couldn't share any enclosed space with them.

I don't like rats, either.

I could just about do that but I would have to have gloves on. Didn't even think of rats

I'm not really a fan of rats. Daddy long legs I cannot stand and I'm not overly keen on the idea of a close encounter with a snake or slow worm.

Wasps have been my phobia all my life, however in later years so long as they're not in the house with me I can tolerate them in the garden but am still very wary and try to keep my distance. Earwigs, they give me the hebe jebies.

Can't say that it is a Phobia but the huge black hairy spiders that we get here - don't really make a web, just a web over where they live. They are often in the plant pots and under them...'orrible things. OH has a thing about mice but I can cope with those and rats I threat with a hell of a lot of respect..

I can't say I'm worried about any critters really, probably because in my youth I knew people who had all sorts as pets (rats, snakes, tarantulas etc). Not keen on being in confined spaces with wasps though

I'm generally not worried about any critters really either Jilly. I just can't do with snakes, we've had a several grass snakes in the garden and I just freeze and dither, they have to be removed and even after I know there gone even just thinking about them makes me go all of a dither. Don't particularly like it if a spider gets on me but I can tollerate them about the garden.

Oh, I enjoyed reading these. We don't have snakes in our garden Chuckles and Bagpuss, although my boys would love it if we did!!! Like LG, I hate hate hate earwigs, they freak me out completely, but other than that, I can cope with everything I have come across so far

One thing we had in abundance when i worked in the nursery was cockroaches...they loved the warm dry areas such under the heating ducts and they came in their thousands !!!! I was absolutely petrified of them.
One of the park police nicked a pot plant out of the palm house once...a month later they had to call pest control in as they were infested with cockroaches.

Hehe Andy, that's a great story! I don't really like Cockroaches but we don't have them up in the cold wet NW. (Although today is set to be another scorcher )
