Anyone got any advice ? I am thinking of buying one as there isn't much room on the house for basket brackets. Some of them look very dodgy. Can't afford a hand made one mind you ! Thanks

They had some in B&Q last week PG, they looked OK, I think they were round wicker ones ready planted up, is that what you meant ?.

They had some on special offer in Wyevales PG. I didn't look too closely, in fact the encounter was me nearly knocking one over squeezing through a small space I guess they'd need to be filled carefully so they didn't blow over/get knocked over

They're not very stable until the baskets are filled and then they're fine

How handy are you PG? or have you got access to someone handy. I've got a heavy duty fence post driven into the ground in one of the borders & I've attached a bracket to hang a basket to that. Mine's against a wall so there's only room for a bracket on one side, but I can't see why there wouldn't be room for one on each side if it was in the middle of the garden, might work out a bit cheaper

Have you got a tree?, you could hang one from the branches, sorry about before I thought you wanted the baskets.

Yes I have a few trees but not where Id want my baskets. Which is quite inconsiderate of them really ! I'm notoriously unhandy as well so the post idea is brilliant but a definite non starter for me. I could ask my sil but Id like it this year really I will treat myself to a scout round the local garden centres at the weekend. Good excuse !

That looks great prodigal gardener, & I love the baskets. Looking behind I can see how hard you've been working getting the garden sorted out, it's looking great.

I paid 25 quid for it. Not cheap but I suspect a cheap one wouldn't last long in our beautiful climate good job in on a diet really. Can't afford to eat for a week now !!!

I can see you've been working hard and although you've moved the basket and stand, it does make a pretty picture there. Lovely stand, worth the money I'd say. Hope it lasts for you prodigal gardener

It's a bit too shady there I think. They have million bells in and they like the sunshine so I've shifted it to under the kitchen window. It's lovely to see it first thing in the morning :-)

New situation Just as you walk round the corner of the house it's there and as you look out of the kitchen window. It doesn't block the view and once the plants get a bit bigger I think it will look smashing :-)

They're great little baskets prodigal gardener how lovely to look out and see them when you come down in the morning. They pick up on the colour of the Phornium as well.

After seeing prodigal gardener hanging basket stand I started looking around for one as I have wanted one for years but the really sturdy ones cost a fortune here... After a while I gave up but had an idea that would solve 3 small problems... a) a hanging basket stand for summer b) a hook for my small washing line when I only have a few things instead of getting the rotary thingy out and c) extra hanging things for the birds in winter... So we have made our own...only cost 14 Euro (12 Pounds) up to now and there are some small hanging baskets on offer for 1.99E (1.70 Pounds) in the next town. ......drum roll RF
