Got an area at work that im thinking of turning into a scented area...but for just summer stuff. so far, ive thought about...
Spartium juncium Philadelphus Roses...included R. rugosa and 'rhapsody in blue' (my fave) Some of the Vibernum species such as V. burkwoodii (some of these may be a bit early though) Buddleja
Any more suggestions. Need to be fairly tough, grow on chalk and have sweet, heady summer scent from flowers, not foliage.

Vibernum, I have Viburnum burkwoodii 'Mohawk' - but what about Viburnum dentatum (Blue Muffin) - flowers later and the seed heads are intersting... Lavenders of course (standards?) and then dianthus - and daft as it sounds - Sweetpeas - what a show they would make!! You could make a willow fence type thing... RF

If you've got any trees in the area grow lonicera halliana up one, the flowers are not spectacular but the fragrance is devine and strong.
The scented tree lilies are stunning.
Scented phlox paniculata?
