[Geranium]

I like Sam Bailey's voice - I think she'll go far. Kamera is the favourite, apparently - she can sing and looks good, so she'll do well. I know Sam Callaghan is popular with teenager girls, but his voice isn't good enough for him to be a great star, is it, Ladygardener. What's so surprising this year is the age of some of them - only 16! Are they mature enough to 'make it' in the pop world?

[Ladygardener]

The thing is that the producers, record companies would want to get them young so they can mould them to fit the market Geranium.

[Geranium]

Well, they're very young this year, Ladygardener! I still can't take to Abi. She looked better last night, but her voice does nothing for me. I wondered how Rough Copy would manage with the Big Band, but I thought they did really well! I knew Sam Bailey would belt out something. She seems very versatile.

[Ladygardener]

Big band week is my least favourite week Geranium.
To be honest, I can't take to any of them really but hope Sam does well and gets lots of work if she does'nt win.
I quite like Rough Copy, they do put on a bit of a show. I'm not convinced their wardrobe works every week 'tho.

Weird, isn't it. Flapping skirts on men look very odd, don't they, Ladygardener - well, unless they're kilts, och aye the noo.  (N.B. NOT the one on Dave the Hairy Biker! )

I wasn't sorry to see Abi voted out - I never took to her. I guessed Sam Callaghan would be in, though - with all the screaming when he appears, he seems to have a lot of female fans...except me, that is.

[Ladygardener]

They'll all be on the tour next year so will get lots of exposure and several months work as well. Can't be bad.

[Geranium]

True. Anyway, it seems that the runners up often do better in their careers than the winners! I think Rocky Road will go on to get a contract, even if they don't win. It must be a bit of an anti-climax for people like Abi - possibly going back to being a supermarket check out girl from all the glitz and glamour. I hope she gets work from this, even though I can't take to her myself. She was so upset at being knocked out. I felt sorry for her.

Well - at last Sam C. has gone!  He looked very crestfallen, but his voice is certainly the weakest.  He put in a very good performance in the sing off, though. I was expecting Hannah to be in the bottom two.

I was expecting Tamara since that's the 2nd time she forgot the words of a song but no, she got through. I've gone off Rough Copy now. I'm very fickle.

To be perfectly honest, I don't really care much about any of them!  Only Sam Bailey stands out imho.   She ought to win, with a voice like hers. She looks a lot slimmer, don't you think? I seem to remember that she was rather a tubby lady to start with. Maybe Sharon's working on her image...Sam's I mean, not Sharon's.

They all get their make overs before the live shows start Geranium and I think they're tweaked along the way after that. She does look great does'nt she.

I bet her family feel proud of her!

Her OH is in the crowd most weeks, cheering her on.

Yes, the camera always pick him out. I thought I liked Nicholas's voice, but it was really just one performance when he sang beautifully - I haven't enjoyed his other songs as much. I keep having to remind myself how young some of them are.

Poor Hannah - but the public never really took to her, apparently. I suspect she might get a contract though.

Well - I honestly don't care about the other contestants, none of them are outstanding. I still like Sam Bailey, though, and apparently she gets consistently high votes from Joe Public. I'm just so fed up with Louis telling them all that they should be in the final and that they'll get record contracts. He's so bor-ing.

I'm with you on that Geranium. I tuned out to last nights show and it was the semi final. It was all so samey, been there and done that so many times. For goodness sake Elton John ahd Beyonce.!!! As you say, they trot out the same critiques as always.

[Chuckles]

I'm not so into it this year for some reason, think you have it the nail on the head LG "all so samey" Fingers crossed the tour will be good, there is something about the atmosphere at a live performance

Yes I agree Chuckles and they'll all be well prepared.

I do think Luke Friend is quite original and he writes his own songs. I'm not so keen on the squeeky clean image of Nicholas but I think Sam will do well doing cover songs.

Well, at least Sam is in the final. Louis was insufferably smug - poor Gary. No wonder he doesn't want to judge it any more. I am not at all keen on Nicholas - I definitely wouldn't buy a CD of him!

So - as expected, Sam Bailey won.    What I didn't like about this year's Xfactor were the OTT sets and flashing lights - not to mention the dance troups! Why do they have to have flashing lights and fireworks, heavenly choirs etc. etc. In some of the performances, you couldn't hear the actual contestant. Ah well, that's it for 2013.

I agree Geranium, I was thinking just that same thing last night. Well done to Sam, she has a good voice and I hope she does well.

I did think Louis Walsh was way out of line telling people to vote for her and not his own act 'tho.

Louis drove us crackers this year,Ladygardener  - did you notice how often he told contestants that they were  'real popstars' and 'should have a record contract'?   I love Sharon  and Gary - I wonder if Simon will come back as head judge next year?

[Ladygardener]

I know what you mean Geranium, he was like an old record going on and on saying the same old things.

There's a lot of speculation about just who the judges will be next year.

He's got really boring. I'd like Sharon, Simon, maybe Nicole, and someone new - from the music industry, maybe a 'big name'. Definitely not Tulisa! Hmmmm...who...

[Chuckles]

There was a lot of cringe worthy spouting came out of the judges mouths this year Joint 1st place goes to Louis and Nicole as I couldn't decide who was worst, Sharon was a bit OTT on occasions. Top marks to the only sensible one Gary Barlow. I guess its all seen as amusing viewing, I do wonder though if they look back at themselves and cringe

Chuckles I'd not seen that but I think it's awful how some people can only say horrible things about people just to get some headlines themselves.

I did'nt like Sam in the jumpsuits, I don't think they look good on anyone but I would'nt say things like that!!!!

That's so unkind - what an unpleasant woman Katie is turning out to be! I wish Sam all the success she deserves. She was noticeably slimmer by the end of the series. Good for her!
