I collected lots of seeds earlier in the year (but forgot to label them and now haven't a clue what it could be!) and sowed a trayfull to see what came up. Well only one seedling has come up so far, anyone fancy a guess as to what it could be. ....

The sweetpea seedlings that I have growing above this in the greenhouse look like ... They are quite similar Jilly, but it's the little spike at the tip of the leaves that's throwing me off.

It's difficult to know, Tig is usually good at identifying seedlings I think.

I've looked at it a couple of times Ladygardener. I'm inclined to say it is a seedling of a member of the pea or bean (leguminosea) family, my first thought was that is was a broad bean

That's interesting Tig. Over the next few weeks as it grows it'll be easier to tell.

I'll third the broadbean theory but surely you'd know theinsidegardener if you'd sown a broadbean seed, they are huge compared to most other seeds

As far as I remember I harvested the seeds from something in my garden, and I don't have broadbeans, so will be interested to see what it is! I'll check it in the morning to see how it's developing, maybe we'll have more clues ....

I'm away for the weekend, will be back home tomorrow. But I'm fairly sure it's going to be another sweetpea! Mum tells me (as she encourages me to sow more sweetpea!) that you can never have enough sweetpea ....
