This has come round quick again. For those of you who don't know, my home town of Lewes in East Sussex hosts probably the biggest and most unique bonfire celebrations in the country. There are 6 bonfire societies which all have their own colours and all have their own costumes to dress up in. They will then all have their own torchlit procession through the tiny streets of Lewes before all joining up for a grand procession. They then split up and go off to their various fire sites....one of which is at the bottom of my garden. This has all resulted from a year of hard work and planning. My wife is on the committee for waterloo bonfire society and is responsible for the building of the bonfire. They attend meetings, do fund raising events, hire out bars for functions etc...and all for the love of bonfire night. Personally, i hate it. Far too many idiots throwing bangers around, i end up losing my temper. So i invite a few friends round, we have a barbeque and watch the fireworks from my back garden. www.lewesbonfirecelebrations.com/www.google.co.uk/search?q=lewes+bonfire+celebrations&espv=210&es_sm=93&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=O0Z3UszeLYqUhQf8r4C4CA&ved=0CFQQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=619

I love watching the parades. We used to go to the Rotherfield one when the boys were little and they'd collect sweets thrown off the floats! This year they all bundled off to the Mayfield one! Enjoy!
