I must admit to being a bit of a numpty when it comes to downloading music from the internet - I've never even tried to do it !! I want to download some songs that I can then burn to CD for my daughter for Christmas. Can anyone recommend a good site ? Is it easy ? and more importantly, is it cheap ? ;D
Cheers FA x

Well I go to various places but I think the easiest to use is Tescos. HMV are pretty good too. Songs start at 79p I think but on some sites you can buy a block and get more for your money. It depends on how much you want to download - I download very little.
I hope that helps a bit!

I use Frostwire FA. But if you want legal, tunes are 79p at Apple iTunes. Then again, let me know what you want, if I have them, I can send you them via e-mail. That works, because i did it for Nightowl

I don't expect you'll have much by Leona or the Sugababes !!
My daughter is only 4, so her poor taste in music can be excused !!!
Thanks anyway

I still use Limewire, but I see they are cracking down on peer-to-peer sites, so I may have to buy more Don't know what other sites are like, I stick to ITunes. But it is possible to buy children's cartoons, films and TV programmes for children now. And of course, iTunes works across all platforms. I have bought a few Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Handy Manny for my wee one, he loves them. (I don't have Sky or anything)

I downloaded a few track from Tesco no problem and can listen to them on my PC but when I tried to transfer them to my MP3 player (my phone) I kept getting an error message saying the tracks weren't in a usable format. I think they are "licence protected" or something but I have no idea why they won't play on my phone. I've never had a problem before.
Any ideas all you "download trollops" out there ;D

I'm still a download virgin FA ;D but could it be to do with the difference in the 2 tabs above the list of Tracks on the Tesco site, ones says WMA Tracks and the other MP3 Tracks. Not a clue what WMA means

WMA is Windows Media Audio, a format created and favoured by Microsoft whilst the MP3 format was pioneered by an independent group.
The benefit of the MP3 format is that the file size can be constrained without discernible loss of audio quality.
