Its defo a honeysuckle wendya you are not imagining it typical when you've just bought honeysuckle As for the other I'm not sure and am guessing it might be a Jasmine of some kind, see what anyone else comes up with. They can get quite woody at the base.

I agree with Chuckles wendya. The 1st is definately a Honeysuckle but it'll most likely bloom before the new one anyhow. The 2nd one looks like Jasmine to me as well, which variety I would'nt know. You could put a cane in beside the woody base and attach it to the fence and the woody bit. It might help it be a bit more stable. You could plant things around/beside / in front of it to hide the bareness and give it a bit of protection but as Chuckles says. They do go woody at the base. Chuckles I love your new Avatar, very seasonal.

How great i thought it was, i dont mind loads of honey suckles i cannot believe I have never seen it before, as this planter was a over grown mess. I didnt know some honey suckles loose their leaves in winter as this was bare a few week ago. But i am very happy its a honeysuckle too Ok thanks will get hubby to make a cane for this plant, and hopefully plant something around to try to protect, i really thought it would die, but no it keeps going I have one more to ask a name,, i found this plant yesterday growing wild, and it had roots on part of its new branch, so up it came and was planted , it has a purple flower, but some of them have blue flowers a bush type of plant, think quite common.

I'm looking & looking at your second climber wendya & I think it might be a passion flower (Passiflora), on the very left hand side of the pics, is that an orange fruit hanging down, if it is, then it definitely is and all it will need is for you to train the long shoots back along the metal grill at the top & it will be fine, the more sun the top growth gets the more it will flower. Think the bottom one is a buddleia

Passion flower was my first thought Jilly then I steared more towards Jasmine, not always easy is it if that is an orange fruit hanging down then Jilly is right I reckon. What are the flowers like and what colour are they. Mmmmm leaves look to waxy for a buddleia, my stab at your 3rd pic wendya is a Hebe, again not sure www.jacksonsnurseries.co.uk/hebe-great-orme.html

Re :Passiflora I will check the orange hanging thing later. I cannot find any images of a passiflora? I dont think Buddleja as i have dwarf ones, for the last bush like plant. But now looking at the link i am convinced it is a hebe thank you all for your input Will be back later to update on passiflora thank you

Ah ha I knew I recognised those leaves from somewhere wendya, my neighbour used to have one that grew over my side of the wall, it's Clematis Armandii, you lucky thing, it's an absolutely gorgeous plant (if a bit rampant if treated well). RHS link if it works

Wooo thank you a clematis i had no idea they grew so big, now in the link it says about the roots, i have seen this mentioned in a few books i have been reading so is it best to put some small pebbles around the bottom to protect from sun, as hear they don't like sun near their roots, i will also plant a few seeds around it too protect it more from sun at the bottom. Thanks you all again,, I know know all the plants
