This sort of arum lily - the wild one! Arum maculatum, the native One. Sometimes has spotted leaves and a real seed weed too.

The first one could be Jack by the Hedgerow, leaves should smell mildly of garlic if it is. The other one is possibly a pink weed which we get tons of and whose name I can never remember. ?Ragged robin? or Fireweed.

You've done well Ladygardener - that's another weed with roots that go down forever. My heart sank when I saw it Jasmine, I know how difficult it is to get rid of it. I'm just waiting to see it return this year again and if it does I'll be right on it.

Tig is very good identifying things, perhaps she will know. Well I have been on 3 other forums where people were asking the same and there was no definite answer - then I looked at some Germany weed sites and the only thing I came near to was Willowherb when it is small...?? That would possibly fit in with owdboggy thoughts?? When I think about it I had Willowherb (Epilobium hirsutum) in the garden last year.... RF

Whatever it is it seems to be everywhere, If it's the one I think it is, I'm forever pulling it up.

It looks like willowherb to me as well. I get rosebay willowherb (fireweed) blowing into the garden and seem to have two distinct types of seedling. The one above has very fleshy white roots which can snap off and regrow, so important to get all the bits out. The other seedlings of this have a paler green leaf and slightly reddish/brown centres (like this one) Found this site while looking for an image, the gallery of weed seedlings could be helpful for some www.cityplanter.co.uk/practical/how-to/how-to-get-rid-of-weeds
