I can't say that any of that report made me feel very happy but we have the Oak processionary moth mostly all over Germany and it is awful. In that report it says...
"They also pose a risk to human health: the caterpillars’ hairs can cause itching skin rashes and, occasionally, sore throats, breathing difficulties and eye problems."
They have shown the problem on the TV and I would say that all of that statement is a vast understatement and the symptoms go on for months and months...one man was nearly in tears he was in such pain.. We keep an eagle eye on all the Oak trees that are surround us as we have to get in touch with "whoever" and the trees have to be sprayed immediately...
Second thing that I found very interesting was about the Spanish Slug - we have always been told that it wandered over from Spain. There was a large bit in the paper the other day to say that the Spanish slug has always been here, the type isn't found in Spain on any of the islands, and didn't come from anywhere...mmmh - intersting - I only knows that we have very few snails and millions of the so called "Spanish slugs" here !!
We have Harlequins of course - don't even want to think about the Ants or the Asien hornets!!

We have to watch for pine processionary caterpillar nests in the pine trees in the garden in Spain - they are awful little critters when they go marching. The gardener cuts the nests out of the trees and blow torches them. The picture of the ants makes them look enormous!

Those bright orange spanish slugs reminded me of a blood slug I'd read about, they are not in the UK though but you wouldn't miss one if you saw it www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2332545/The-bizarre-blood-slugs-cannibal-snails-remote-mountain-region-Australia.html
