Need some help.
There's 5 of us who have all known each other since school...ive known one of hem since we were 4. Next year marks our 50th birthdays and we'd like to do something...just the blokes, no wives, no kids.
Our birthdays are spread out from the earliest in Feb to mine in late Aug. We'll have our own individual celebrations on our birthdays. So we'd be looking to get away maybe for a long weekend somewhere.
We enjoy a beer, good food, a bit of culture, live music....nothing too energetic, no drugs, prostitutes or nightclubs.
3 things on the list are Cork or Dublin, a long weekend fishing or a long weekend in Berlin. We'll have a budget of around £500
So if you have any more suggestions, i'd love to hear them

I could possibly help you on the Berlin side, my Son-in-law is there but it would cost to get over, and also cheaper hotels etc, - still possible though. Cork or Dublin sound great and a long fishing weekend...if you are all into fishing I would be inclined to do that and share petrol prices, - what about salmon fishing in Scotland...I might be able to help you there as well, - know what is possible and where one could go... Hiring a cabin somewhere for the weekend...Canopy and Stars have some fantastic places - not expensive if there are a few of you..even on my side of the water!! Have a look and see what you think. www.canopyandstars.co.uk/

How about Bristol? Loads of culture, and it has a great night-life. The Avon or the Severn are well within reach, too.

So many different things you could do, the Dublin trip sounds like a goer to me

I was thinking a ferry to Amsterdam but as there might be too much temptation there for 5 blokes!! I agree with Chuckles, Dublin lots of friendly pubs and singsong to be had there a well as culture.
