Hi, Is it ok to remove moss from a lawn while it is still green or do I have to treat it first and wait for it to go black? Does it matter which sand I use when reseeding Builders sand , playsand, or sharp sand if so what are the differences? Thanks in advance for your enlightenment.

If you are scarifying, then it does not really matter. It is easier to remove after treatment with a moss killer though as you can see the patches better. Lawn sand is sharp sand mixed with iron sulphate which is what kills the moss. If you need to re-seed after scarifying, then a top dressing of finely sieved compost and sharp sand is best. Builders sand as used for making mortar is no good at all. Easy enough to tell, if it makes good sand castles then it is no good for top dressing. Sharp sand has bigger grains in it, rub it between your fingers. It should feel like fine sand paper.
