I think Widget needs his own thread - so here it is!
Now he's able to go out on his lead, he's getting tired by the end of the day and (usually) lies quietly on the sofa next to me in the evening. I always said I wouldn't allow him on the furniture, but this is his one 'special' place. He's not allowed on any other furniture or upstairs.
He loves ripping up cardboard boxes, and I gave him the box my plants came in - he made short shrift of it!
Unfortunately for my double wall in the back garden, he likes lying on the Aubrieta. It's squashed flat, but it must be comfortable there.

Back to his mischievous self, thanks, maggy; it was a mild ear infection which of course spaniels are prone to - we have drops to put in. He isn't a bit snooty - it was just the way he was standing, still for a change - usually he's a waggy wiggly bundle!

Oh I know dogs aren't snooty Geranium, they have a proud look and that's good. I know about spaniels and how much their ears can be a problem , my F.I.L had a lovely black one called Skipper he was the cleverest dog they had , he used to go for the bus and travel 15 miles to the Granma,s and make the return journey when she told him to go home. But he had to keep on top of his ear care , it's the flap that causes it isn't it. Not like my two with sticky up ears always listening for someone to bark at.

I spoke too soon - he was a very unhappy little dog yesterday afternoon - he leant against my legs and looked up at me piteously. At least we can sit him up on the bench to put his drops in - much easier than squatting on the floor! I just hope they take effect very soon.

He's adorable Geranium, even though he's a sad little boy atm it's great that he's bonded so well with you, he knows to go to his Mum if he's feeling unhappy. Hope he picks up soon.

Thanks, Jilly; no, maggy, but if the infection carries on much longer, he'll have to. He's still shaking his head madly.
He is a real little bouncy monkey - I saw him take a flying leap onto the window ledge and from there onto the coffee table.

Oh I have a part kangaroo dog as well , Tilly leaps onto a chair which I keep moving away! So she can get onto the front bay window which is over a metre high , I had to replace all the weights and chain on that vertical blind which she had snapped! Hopefully Widget will grow out of his puppy ways She is now 5 years old and stuck in a puppy wharf.

Yes, of course, maggy, why didn't I realise? He is, of course, a spaniel/kangaroo cross.
He drove me round the bend and back yesterday, biting and pulling at my clothes. Then he goes all cuddly and I regret being cross with him. I gave him a box - he loves playing with them.

It certainly does, maggy, but I'm wary of giving him a slipper - OH always leaves his in the hall and he won't be best pleased if our 'Spangaroo' grabs one as he races through. Getting it off him would be nightmarish! He had a large chew yesterday which, with his box, kept him occupied most of the afternoon. (Thank goodness!) He was obviously feeling the heat, poor little mite. He curled up next to the wall where it was a little cooler.
