Huge crowds are expected to watch iconic steam locomotive the Flying Scotsman pass through Manchester city centre this afternoon.
The train will be passing through Manchester Victoria station but this time, the world famous engine will be dressed in its famous Brunswick Green livery.
Steam fans can first catch a glimpse of the train at Eccles station, where it is expected at just after 1.30pm.
It will travel on to Manchester Victoria station, where it is expected at 2.15pm, before heading towards the heritage East Lancashire Railway line at Castleton for just before 2.50pm.
You moved away too soon Fozzie.

Too bloody right! I bet she looked wonderful ! As far as I can recall she will be close to her 1950's look; A3 class, BR livery, and BR number 60103. Although she never ran as an A3 for LNER. She was built (1920's) as an A1 class locomotive with the LNER number 1472. When she ventured into Scotland she had a bit of remodeling and was renumbered 4472
Deep sigh

When I used to do Hammersmith (underground) to Paddington. Then walk to Euston and Marylebone with notebook, pencil, sandwiches, mars bar and drink She would sometimes be at Marylebone. (Nottingham - London run while at Leicester sheds). She would have been an A3 with twin funnel and smoke deflectors
What a sad little boy!!

Not jealous, much! No room here so still in boxes. One day I'll have no garden but one hell of a shed with pictures of Roses and a model of God's Wonderful Reading station in oo. When younger was always going to do Paddington circa 1930, only cos I had lots of Castles and Kings. Think I met your cousins husband whilst queuing for the Great Gathering NRM York a couple of years ago! I have been known to chase the Cumbrian Winter Express to Carnforth then Carlisle. but I was starting from Darwen

Deep Sigh, My big regret is never doing the Cumbrian Mountain Express whilst we were in Darwen, it always seemed sooo expensive, even for me!
