Calculating the number of plants that will fit in a round pot.
The maths is easy if you go through it step by step, don’t be put off
Measure the diameter of your pot (its width at the widest point) Divide that number by the spread of one plant (they must be equal)
For example: a 22” wide pot and a 2” spread would give 11
If you get a number with a fraction, remove the fraction
For example: a 16” wide pot and a 3” spread would give 5 plus a fraction, you would use 5
Write that number down Now add 1 to that number then halve it
For example: with the example of 11, adding 1 gives 12 then halving it gives 6 Below your first number, write all the numbers down to the number you just worked out
For example: 11 10 9 8 7 6
Leave the first number as it is and double each of the others
For example: 11 20 18 16 14 12
Add the numbers together
For example: 11+20+18+16+14+12 = 91
You have your answer, 91 plants with a 2” spread will fit in a 22” diameter pot.
