There seem to be some really smart people here. I thought maybe someone might find the following paper interesting. This is my son's first published paper. He attends Michigan State University. He got his BS in Horticulture in 2013, but is working on his PhD in Plant Genomics and Biotechnology at the moment.

Good grief blc, I can't even pronounce it all, never mind understand what it all means...respect!!

Yeah, I get bits and pieces but most of it is way over my head. If you have ever seen the movie Medicine Man with Sean Connery, that is what my son does, he just doesn't do it in a jungle.

He's been working with it for about 8 years now.

I was Secretary for a Dr in Plant Genetics for a few years - some of the words that he used I insisted he spelt - I hadn't a clue!!

Yeah, some of the words are a mile long. He figures he has a couple of years there yet, but isn't sure where to do his post doc.

One of the professors on a different floor, does cancer research and was trying to get him to work with him. Dr. Barry was saying he hadn't had a post doc student in a while, lol. He was looking at a place in Texas, it might have been A&M since Dr. Barry had been there, but Dr. Barry said something might be off about the person in charge there and he gave reasons so that is kind of a wait and see. Most of the research labs are on the East or West coast, though he is still open to Germany or the UK.

I'd rather he stay in the states but that is mom talking. I told him I'd like him to find a lab where its nice and warm year round. I'm still holding out for Texas! lol
