I have mislaid my very small trowel (again!!!) so I have been googling to look for a substitute. It has to have a very narrow blade, only 2" max. The only one I can find that comes close is a De Wit.
has anyone got one please and are they worth the money? Maybe just posting about my missing trowel will make it magically reappear!!!

Hello Geranium. When it comes to losing things I suppose a very small trowel is high on the list of possibilities! You know how you can walk right past something and not see it then find it in plain sight when you're not looking for it? I heard a good tip which works surprisingly well. As you are searching say the name of the thing you seek continuously. So you would keep saying 'very small trowel' as you looked. The neighbours might think you had lost your mind as well as the trowel I suspect but it actually works. Try it.

Thank you both. I shall try your trick, Ron. andy, the vintage trowel looks VERY like the one I've mislaid, it's a pity they haven't got a 'buy it now' option. I logged in to make a bid, but the seller will only sell to a PayPal user, so I have written down the details and OH will have to bid on Saturday. Fingers crossed he wins!

Thanks, Barbara, I had looked at that one in my googling, but it is wider than the missing one. I have a horrible feeling that 'my' trowel may have been tipped into the compost bin, or possibly OH's trailer, which would be the end for it as he tips the lot in a huge bin at the reclamation place.

andy, many thanks for finding that trowel on eBay. Just to let you know that OH bid for it and won - nobody else wanted it, thankfully, so it should be with me next week!

Well done to your OH Geranium - hope the old one turns up too - you can never have too many trowels!

That is very true, Jasmine, I'm still hoping the old one turns up. I don't mind having two of them!

My 'new' old trowel arrived safely yesterday and it is great! I still haven't found the original one, and I suspect it might be in the compost bin. That won't be emptied until next year, so thank goodness andy found me another one.
