Seems the appropriate place for this...
What sad news about Brucie. I was chatting to the Sainsbury's delivery man this morning - he was probably about the same age as me - and Brucie had been part of weekend telly entertainment way back to the days of 3 channels. What was that show called with the conveyor belt and you won all the prizes you could remember and there was always a set of heated hair rollers and a giant teddy?

Jonny Peacock is a guy with a false leg I think.

Jonnie Peacock is a gold medal winner at the 2012 para olympics and defended and won his title again in 2016 winning gold again. He had a below knee amputation after contracting meningitis at the age of 5. He's only 23 and was born in Cambridge.

I really enjoyed it too Ladygardener, Shirley looks like a good addition, and can certainly still move. Apart from the tribute to Brucie ( over which I FFd ) I was pretty impressed. Thoughts.... isn't Aston small ( 5'4 apparently )....loved Ruth's hair......doesn't Mollie sound posh?.......shame Kevin and Pasha got non contenders...haven't a favourite yet, but none I didn't take to either.....roll on 23rd

I loved it, I think some of us belong to the SCD spoiler group on FB so it was interesting reading all the posts this morning including a lot of people not liking Tess' red lippie or the watch sketch!!! I thought the Brucie tribute was lovely and Tess was clearly very moved at one point - she had done Strictly with Brucie for so long they must have been very close - it must be like a big family I guess. Great mix of 'celebrities' - isn't Susan a tiny little thing. Liked the new judge - nice to have 2 females and 2 males so they can have dance partners when needed and it makes it equal! Can't wait for it to start now - wonder who will surprise us.

I didn't watch it Not that keen on the 'launch' shows, prefer it once they start dancing with their allotted partners. I did see the Brucie tribute dance on FB, and the pairings as they were announced. Looking forward to seeing how they get on and who lets their nerves get in the way of their routines!

I ff that bit as well Auricula, I did think Tess was very moved. As you say Jasmine, she worked along side him for so many years. Claudia on the other hand, won't have worked much with him at all, I liked Ruth's hair as well but hope Anton does'nt make a whole joke of the dances again this year. It really puts me off. I ff through the singing too.

I do so agree about Anton, Ladygardener, I think Ruth will take it seriously and deserves to be given a proper chance. Also agree that Tess looked genuinely upset, bless her - 10yrs is a long time to work with someone ( feels even longer with someone like Bruce I expect ) I hope Johnnie Peacock doesn't just get sympathy votes which keep him in.... if he can dance fair dos Glad it doesn't start until 23rd as I'm away from home next weekend and I enjoy the long shows at the beginning.

I don't think it'll be the sympathy vote that keeps Johnnie in Auricula, and he's dancing with Ottie, always a favourite of mine. Think Susan is hilarious, and the Reverend (even if he does appear at the opening of an envelope these days ) Oh a Strictly spoiler group on FB Jasmine, would someone like to point me in the general direction.
