Octobers flowers

These are in the back garden, with the weather turning much colder today I'm not sure how long before we get frosts.

Lovely pics Barbara, I specially like the top dahlia. I noticed this year how cosmos just keeps going and then suddenly runs out of steam!

Someone on FB leaves there's alone  and they self seed, I didn't know about that did you.?

I thought they should Barbara, but I dead head mine so they keep flowering. I suppose you could scatter seed in spring where you wouldn't mind them growing. My MiL's neighbour sprinkled some mixed seeds back in spring and she has got cosmos triffids!

Interesting Jasmine Barbara, I've never been able to grow them by scattering the seeds either and we dead head as well to keep the flowers coming for as long as we can.

They're doing well Barbara, mine are all finished.

Mine finished ages ago, they weren't brilliant this year, think I sowed them a bit late. Well done with yours Barbara

I didn't do any /much dead heading of them this year, so maybe that's the reason they're still going strong, I'll have to put the wallflowers somewhere else this year.
