Well done Carlos Alvarez, on winning in the final at Wimbledon, and Henry Searle winning the boys final.

I've enjoyed watching Wimbledon, except for the presence of Clare Balding, who the BBC use as a presenter. She certainly knows about horses, but the BBC "don't do horse racing." So they use her for Winter Olympic Board Sports, Track Cycling, Rugby and all sort of other sports of which she's no real previous experience. But has good researchers preparing her notes. Like many at the BBC, she has the innate ability on occasions, to talk bollox with authority. It amused me that some matches during the week were suspended because of the 11.00pm curfew So Novak Djokovic asked why matches on the Centre Court could not be started earlier. He was totally unaware that such matches, according to tradition, could not begin until after those with seats in the Royal Box had finished their lunch. I think the ball boys/girls were fantastic, but "overtrained," almost robotic in their actions. Two examples. In the Tsitsipas/Thiem game, Tsitsipas who was serving and going for a returned ball, slid yards into the corner and ended up unmoving on the ground. The TV camera zoomed in so viewers could whether he was injured or not. Fortunately he wasn't. The ball boy, as probably instructed remained, motionless, as he came sliding towards him. Then stood arms stretched out palms open, to indicate he had no tennis balls, But I think at that moment, serving, was the last thing on Tsitspas's mind.
Then yesterday. The spectators are madly cheering, the umpire is descending the steps, the players are leaving the court, the game was over, Vondrousova had won, But no one had told the ball boy! "Typical Wimbledon!"
