This is the stray cat I adopted nearly 3 weeks ago. Didn't say anything before because I was waiting for her owner to get in touch as I told local animal sanctuaries and vets I had her and no one has come for her yet. Sooooooooo.... as we can't keep her locked in the house forever and I want her to come back when I let her out tomorrow, I named her Penny (which is actually my dog Sally's registered breeding name too). She likes watching TV and plays a lot and I love the fact she chases spiders cos it saves me running away.

Well she went out and came back. She came running down the garden when I called her so I guess she likes living with me. Got her a tag done too before we let her out in case she didn't come back and she looks ever so cute!

Well I've found out my cat is also an MCFC fan as she wasn't interested in the football highlights on TV until they came on so she's so far my perfect cat! lol

Oh yeah she's settled in alright, got her favourite chair and everything now!
I had a cat whom I'd had from being a young girl up to my late teens and she went out one morning and never came back. I think she went somewhere to die but it was the not knowing and thinking of her being alone that upset me.
I also had a torty called Dabs who was put to sleep in February this year because she was old, blind, deaf and started to smell funny. She was a stray who adopted me in 1999. We found her a new home but she came back to me so I took the hint and kept her.
My housemate went ballistic at me for bringing the cat back saying I'd stolen someone's cat and I should've left her there (where she was nearly run over and being shooed away onto a busy rd) and then said I should take her back later when the roads were quiet. I'm sure he'd appreciate someone doing the same for his cat if he ever went missing just before bonfire night and frosts. Yes, I'm sure he would. Knowing his cat was out in the freezing cold, scared out of it's wits. <insert suitable insult here>
She's at my mum's for the time being until I get somewhere permanent then she'll come with me along with the bunnies. And then we'll get a dog too and another cat and a budgie. Maybe some finches. <G>

We had to take Penny to the vets last week to see if she'd been done. They had to shave a patch on her side but said they had to knock her out first to shave her. I bet she'd have let them do it anyway but they knocked her out. She had to have nil by mouth after 8pm the night before and she started to chew the xmas decs lol Poor thing. She had been done though and has a lovely shaved patch on her side now.

I hate it when cats have to be shaved - they look so odd! She'll recover quickly though.
