Has anyone got any name suggestions for a Westie please? It's a girl and it is a rescue dog and we have no idea of her history other than she was found at a service station before Christmas.. Ta! LLx

Oh poor little mite - are you keeping her or is she going to go to someone else? Willomena? Willow for short! Wynda is a Scottish name, working with the "W" for Westie theme: it means "from the narrow passage" Winnie or Wynne means white in Celtic if that helps! Is she white? Px

How about Petrel LL? A nice play on words! Or even Petra after the original Blue Peter Dog. My neighbour has a male Westie called Onslow.

Well she won't be mine exactly - but she will be another foster dog for me - it's the lady over the road who likes to come walking with me when I take my girls out. She will only take her on if she gets on ok with my girls - my girls get on with any dog - so it will be up to the little fluffy white bundle if she stays or goes tonight! I was trying to think of Scottish girl names but can't think of anything other than Ziggywigs! Thats why I've asked you lovely people! LLx

That's a good name Plocket but we already have a Winnie that we meet up with on our walks. Might get confusing. I will make a list of all the suggestions and take it over with me when we go and meet her tonight. I might go and have a look at all the member names too!

Thank you everyone for your suggestions and to Rita, Sweetie & Dutchy for the links - some of the Gaelic ones are very LOTR!
I will let you know if she's going to stay with my neighbour. I do hope so!

How about Esso ? ;D
My friend had a Westie called Madge, now I can't think of them as anything but "Madge-dogs", so all Westie's are called Madge as far as I'm concerned.

Westies are normally white so call her Blacky or Sooty... Stumpy is another idea cos they've got lil legs.... Or Sandra. Nowt wrong with Sandra.
Ours is called Sally (Penny is her breeding name). Best dog we've ever had. She was missing her mate yesterday though but she soon got over it.
