Well I have now seen the little dog - she is the least traumatised rescue dog I have ever seen - she is , according to the vet, about 9 months old, She is tiny, very very cute, a real sweetie, friendly and happy! My neighbour is going to give her a home and she wants to call her.....Lucy! Although if it was me I would call her Bonnie as she really is a bonny wee lass! I didn't take my camera as I thought the flash might be too much so I will take a photo of her at the weekend. Happy Ending! ;D LLx

Well she won't be mine exactly - but she will be another foster dog for me - it's the lady over the road who likes to come walking with me when I take my girls out. She will only take her on if she gets on ok with my girls - my girls get on with any dog - so it will be up to the little fluffy white bundle if she stays or goes tonight! I was trying to think of Scottish girl names but can't think of anything other than Ziggywigs! Thats why I've asked you lovely people! LLx How about Zig, Ziggy, Wiggy, Wiggyzig

I worked with someone who called their daughter Charlotte Ptolemy. I asked wasn't Ptolemy a bloke and they said yes.... They liked the Egyptian name though...

Was Ptolomy Cleopatra's brother?

Was Ptolomy Cleopatra's brother? Nope! Whilst his first name was Claudius, he was a famous astronomer and geographer. Named after some place in Egypt, it is a Greek name rather than Arabic. Oddly enough if Baby Calabrese had been male, "he" might have been a "Tolly", albeit Bartholomew. And it has recently emerged that if my brother-in-law's Mother had had her choice he would have been called Bartholomew....their last name is of course SIMPSON!

Thanks CC, I don't mind the name Tolly but I am not keen on Ptolomy Hopefully when baby is born son and DIL will come up with another name - well, they will have to if it's a girl DIL says she thinks it will be a boy - she feels differently to when she was carrying Lily.

Pam Our first bump was known as "Iggy", as he was due on St Ignacious (who?) Day, but ended up been called something else. So you are safe in the knowledge of a name change...... However, the 2nd bump was called simply, for the sake of the first "Baby B" and ended up actually as ...... err "Baby Bea". 3rd bump was called "New Baby". I would have liked to have called her "Kew Baby", but had to make do with a relatively normal full name (although her nickname is not so common). Don't worry me love whatever it is....it won't be a Ptolemy (with a silent P).....

I called all my babies Morph after the plasticine figure on the show Take Hart ,after all the only thing I knew of them was that apparently they had two arms, two legs, no distinguishable features .....morph was perfect. I didnt call any of them morph afterwards though, dont worry, Isabella, its likely to change instantly. ;D

Our last bump was called Bunty/Gaylord ;D We LOVED the name Monty but everyone else gave an unpleasant comment and he wasn't called Monty. (Mind you, he has an equally fab name now) Anyway 6 months after he was born, OH happened to mention that he was still upset with how rude people had been about our choice of name so I went down to the registry office and added it on for him. You can completely change or add on names within the first year of a babies life! Good eh? So now his 3rd name is Montgomery and OH feels a bit better about it all.

Really didn't know that you could do that...change the names inthe first year....you learn something new every day...
Do they just cross it out or give you a new certificate.....have images of lots of crossing outs on babys certs with undecisive parents LOL.

Hi Ziggywigs,
They give you a new birth cirtificate and fill in box 17: Name given after registration, and surname. I 'spose they only give you a year to do it as some kids could have names added on all their life coz of daft (like us) parents! ;D ;D ;D

Pocahontas?! OMG lol You have to think about a name for them to grow up and old with. Can you imagine how much teasing that poor kid is going to have in the school playground?! Pokey etc... It was bad enough with my surname which isn't an unusual one.

I suppose you could try one of the names of the Motorway services stations - they have petrol station forecourts.
