My friend Debbie has lost her cat - Fizz is a creature of habit and always comes home around 5.30pm for her tea and then she is shut in for the night - she has a brother and a sister and they are distressed at her absence too - she is 3 years old She went missing on Saturday and Debbie has searched nearly every field and hedgerow surrounding her property - she goes out at 10am and searches until 5pm and then again at 8pm and comes home at 5am She has put up posters everywhere and contacted local radio stations and vets If there is anyone living in the Stafford area who would kindly put up a poster please email me at jenny_wrenn@tiscali.co.uk and I can email them a poster with a photo Anyone else who wants to post a message of support please post on this Thread and I can read them out to her - she is making herself poorly with the worry and lack of sleep Please help.......thank you - jenny x

jenny, so sorry to hear of your friend's cat and the distress her absence is causing. I know what she is going through. It's awful not knowing and wondering where she can be. Has she tried local animal sanctuaries and the police? If she leaves her contact details, they will let her know if any cat fitting Fizz's description is, or has, been brought in. I do hope she finds her and that they can be happily reunited.
Shrub. xxx

Oh no, that is so sad. You can tell your friend that exactly the same thing happened to me around 5 years ago with my Dylan puddy tat . I put up posters, posted leaflets of his pic through doors and spent most nights sat in my car, just incase he turned up. Anyway, two weeks later I got a knock on the door. It was a lovely gentleman who was very, very apologetic! It turns out that he had received the flyer I'd posted through his letterbox BUT, he had shoved it in a drawer and thought no more of it! Then, a couple of days later, Dylan had shown up on his doorstep, hungry and desperate for a cuddle . This nice gentleman took him in, fed him and had actually asked around to see if anybody knew who he was (unfortunately, Dylan had lost his tag and the gentleman never thought of taking him to the vet where they would have read his chip!). Anyway, the gentleman came across Dylan's pic and was absolutely horrified to realise he had been looking after somebody elses much loved pet for quite a while!! Dylan was brought home, very well fed, very happy and none the worse for the experience!! Tell you friend that her puddy tat is probably curled up in front of a lovely fire, being fed and loved for and, eventually, she will come home! Susie x

If you have been on BBC message boards you will know that sometime ago my 13 yr old daughters cat Duchess disappeared. she was 8 yrs old and had a tendency to get into peoples cars. Camilla was heartbroken and even now she still cries at night as the damned cat used to sleep on her bed We have never seen or heard of her since, even though someone said they thought they saw a very scraggy cat in the woods looking very much like her, after much searching and poster posting nothing. I like to think that she is happy and well fed somewhere. And i have been told about lots of pussy cats that turn up after very long absences. There is always hope. CJ

I've just had a look Jenny and she's nearer to Market Drayton than Stafford from what I can see. Could you try and find out where your friend has posted pictures, if any, and I will do what I can.

Oh, please tell your friend not to give up! My Bill cat has just waltzed in after 4 days away...I have been soo worried about him. He's deaf so I couldn't even go and shout for him. He's just eaten a massive bowl of food, a pile of ham and milk and is now curled up fast asleep on the table. He's very old so I was really concerned that he may have been laying ill or injured. He's fine though! I do hope your friend's cat does the same.

Jenny, has your friend checked in sheds, garages and the like? Tilly disappeared for a couple of days a few years ago . She'd been locked in a shed and spent the time sleeping in an old tumble dryer. She was fine but very hungry! S x

Fizz is still missing Debbie lives in a remote area - and not many sheds near by - but she has visited every neighbour and farmer and been thru all stables, sheds, garages - she is very distraught and making herself poorly with worry The Cat Protection Rescue have been a wonderful support for her and phone regularly and it is kind of you nice people to post concerns

The same thing happened with my baby called Jo. She just went out one day and never came back. She was about 14 though. Oddly enough, the rabbit died that day too so we reckon she bumped him off and legged it....

Hi Jenny, is there any news yet on Fizz? Looking at her beautiful marking I cant help but wonder if someone has picked her up, taken her home and is waiting for the reward to go up. Some people are like that. A few years ago there where a couple of people doing just that near us with dogs and cats both of them where caught by the police and rspca. How can people be so cruel knowing that the owners are going mad with worry.

Sadly Fizz is still missing; her sibling was knocked down last week and the lady who hit her called at Debbie house to tell her what had happened which was really nice of her - not her fault the cat ran out into the road So poor Debbie had to go and collect her poor cat - which was lying in the hedgerow - been to the vets, treated and now good as new Lady paid half the vet bill
