Shadda

Shadda was found dead this morning on the other side of the road.

I'm absolutely distraught. They didn't tell me until I got home from work half an hour ago and I haven't stopped crying since.

I was more worried about Schmickles going out for the first time this week and I just KNEW something would go wrong.

I thought it was odd that he wasn't in this morning or at least didn't come in as I went to work.

Thank you all. I've just phoned the people we got him from to tell them the bad news and I burst into tears again. I'm such a soft cow.

I absolutely adore my cats, dote on them. I sound like a proper old spinster now but they're like my babies. I've tried to explain to Schmickles now that she's an only child but she's still wandering around looking for him.

So sorry to hear your sad news April. The times I've dreaded a similar thing when my cats have disappeared for a day or two but it's not happened to me yet. I CAN empathise with you though.

Strange how often we "acquire" a new pet shortly before something bad happens to another one, as if fate knows we are going to need another one to comfort us. That's what happened when my Mum's cat turned up out of the blue and "adopted" her.

I miss him so much. He used to sit on the side of the bath while I was in the shower and I kinda expect him to be there every morning so it's been very hard the past few days when he hasn't been there. Poor bugger.

Aprilaydee, I'm only now catching up on the threads I've missed, I'm so very very sorry to hear about Shadda, I know you will miss him. Was'nt he lucky 'tho having such a wonderful caring owner, not all cats are so lucky. I'm sure his memory will be with you always.

I've only just seen this thread and I'm so very sorry April. It's really awful isn't it? I had to have my beloved cat Bill put to sleep last week (he had a tumour behind his ear) and it was terrible. He was 17 years old and I still feel like a bit of me has disappeared. I keep waiting for him to walk through the door and howl at me for food. I've still got the third food bowl there...I can't bear to put it away. You just have to give your other cats lots of cuddles and remember Shadda with a lot of love X

April - I'm so so sorry to here your sad news. No matter how loved your pet is, it is always a shock, and you miss them greatly. I don't know if this helps, but I always think of all my cats running round together in a field of grasses and wild flowers just having great fun. - All my cats are and I'm sure Shadda is too.
