seems to be the magnificent seven, there's one tiny wee one, un demi, it has not been rejected yet, hope for the best. reminds me of a maternity ward at the hospital, none of them have suckled. saw my teenage daughter briefly just after 6.30, she held the first one. the boys will be fascinated. last time we had an animal that we let breed was 10 yrs ago, kittens. it's good for kids to deal with. and it's beautiful day!! ;D

I want a puppy too Chuckles - my GF's Afghan - my Afghan's Mummy - had 14 - there were three midwives and they sat on three chairs in a row - it looked so funny - Mummy had to have an op so her milk dried up so they all had to be hand fed and hand milked - the three midwives took it in turn to have a nap still sitting in the chairs - there was no alternative if they were to live All but two survived - however Afghan puppies are not very attractive have to say

I remember my neice saying when her JR had puppies a few months ago she had to encourage them to suckle. She learnt this when she was working at a vet practice whilst at college. If within an hour or 2 at most they haven't suckled you can draw a droplet of milk onto the end of the nipple by gently squeasing with your fingertips then put the puppy to the teat and help them get attached. Hope this helps Not the best of photos as they were taken on a mobile phone

Oh what wonderful news about your puppies but sad that you've lost one Years ago my springer Bess had a little of 11 , she also squashed one of them and he was too weak to let her know . I think it's natures way of keeping the fit ones fit You've got LOADS of newspaper changing, bottle feeding (if Mum struggles) but the thing that I loved best was to sit in the whelping box with Mum and her babies.............ahhhhh........wonderful memories! Oh so sad about the littlest one I'm with you SS, dont like to lose them. Are you going to start looking for good homes for them? Best done earlier, rather than later methinks or you wont be able to part with them And what would you do with all those doggies? Think of the exercise though ;D
