She's so purty!!! Shame she's pregnant so you can't have her sooner. Brilliant news that she gets on with the cats, well, doesn't chase them constantly!

Well, the trial run is going well so far. Fickle is an absolute joy and she is THE most laid back and easy going dog I've ever known. She growled at the cats when she first arrived but I told her not to and she hasn't done it since. The cats don't seem to mind her and the kids have loved it today. She definitely is pregnant though so we won't get her permanently until around early May, when she's had the pups and they've been weened and sold. Here's a couple more pictures FA x I'm so pleased that it went well for you all. She really is a beauty FA! Any more thoughts on taking a puppy as well ;D S x

Apparently if you squirt tomato sauce on the wee that stops it marking the grass. We have two bitches but we haven't tried it ourselves ! Mind you our lawn is a complete state anyway so a few patches dont look out of place! and when the garden is "done" they will NOT be allowed to even look at it never mind Pee all over it ;D

Just a quick update. Fickle had her puppies 2 weeks ago (all 11 of them ). Sadly, one died but the other 10 are healthy and 9 have been sold already ! She has 3 yellow and 7 black puppies. We went to see her yesterday and I managed to take a few pictures while we were there. We'll be getting her as soon as the breeder thinks it's ok for her to leave the puppies and she no longer needs to feed them, probably in another 3 weeks or so. FA x PS - NO, we are most definitely NOT getting the one that hasn't yet been sold !!!

Ahem, being practical it's not really a good idea to keep a pup with its mum, so I understand. It can cause problems with their ultimate development. Having said that I'm no expert so pay no mind to me! Aren't they gorgeous tho'. Oooh I want a new puppy!!!!

I have a 4 year old grandson and she is brilliant with him. Follows him everywhere, especially when he has food!!!! Poppy has a good pedigree and we have it framed. I wonder where Fickle actually came from, perhaps they are related as they both have some relationship with gundogs, and Fickle is a gundog.Poppy was born in Lydney, Gloucestershire. Poppy is a fantastic swimmer and we can never get her out of the sea or river. CJ Lovely pic CJ. You're right, they do look very alike don't they. We struggle to get Poppy out. When we were in Scotland last year she stood in the sea and would not come out, we started to walk off thinking she would follow but she just turned and started swimming in the opposite direction. She is quite a madam and she is definately the boss in our house.

Eric KNOWS we're leaders of the pack. WE get the food, WE control when he goes in or out, WE decide when to play. HE decides where he goes when he escapes... lol He got out yesterday morning and my OH was driving around at about half 5 looking for him. He then had rolled in something smelly and so had to have a shower. Eric that is, not my OH although he did have to get in the shower with him to do it.

Dont you just love them. Poppy gets out at the top of the garden and stands barking for someone to go get her as she cant seem to grasp that she can get back thru the same way. They are so intelligent most of the time but occasionally a bit thick. She is actually very spoilt and we all treat her like a child.Naughty really but I dont care.

Sorry CJH, I've only just seen your post. Fickle has been poorly and the breeder actually thought she was going to lose her. She stopped eating and was quite sick. She also had no energy and wasn't feeding the puppies very well.
She's known for years that she has a thyroid problem and she is on permanent medication. It turns out that the dose of the medication was too high and it was making her poorly. The breeder has now cut the dose down by half and she rang today to say that Fickle is now "95% better". Once she gets back to her old self and her final puppy is sold (she thinks it is but isn't totally sure) we can have Fickle.
My kids are almost bursting with excitement !!
