At the weekend daughter (6) and granddaughter (4) spent a happy hour getting the pods out of the runner beans and climbing beans ready for next year. I put them outside in our open barn to dry off and they're sprouting!! So that's another odd thing to add to the growing list of plants shooting new growth, lots of flowers still etc etc. I don't know what to do with them now - should I throw them away?

I suppose thats all you can do, 4P unless you fancy bunging them in a casserole, theyre probably still edible

I put our bean seeds out to dry and the birds ate them!!!
I'm not sure what you can do with sprouting beans 4P - I personally wouldn't eat them but I can't quite decide why!!! ;D

Blimey 4P
A daughter aged 6 and a grandaughter aged 4. You must've had a fair sized gap between children !

Certainly have - 3 daughters aged 24, 21 and 6!! How silly was that??? Anyway, I'm cross about the beans sprouting - don't think I fancy doing anything with them either except putting them in the compost - what a waste. Eeh, it grieves me....that means I'll have to BUY a packet next year!
